Urgent Political reconciliation.

Government of Bangladesh experiencing difficulties with its pundits
who once again separating themselves from the general pack by relegating
the sudden surge of plummeting figures to a side note, in addition to
providing the concerned public with an uninformative grim economic outlook
for 2008. which we believe is going to be another difficult year for CTG.
Despite corruption, we've been witnesses to the countries growing
inflation adjusted rate of about 6% is now down to about 4.5%.
In light of the stable political status quo, we must not forget that
persistence is going to be the crucial ingredient in keeping the current
political stability and cementing hope in our countries long but sure for
future. We must ask ourselves, where we were, what we are doing, and what
should we do about?

Like deciphering the earth itself, we foresee another political depression
brewing, which has compelled us to consider an urgent political
reconciliation.

At the surface where we walk, work, worry and the circumstances that we
deal with everyday are not expressed by the Pundit's that millions are
boiling over:

How do we formulate reconciliation?
How do we bring business & FDI confidence?
How do we stop accelerated brain drain?
How do we formulate and impose sustainable policy?
How do we empower independent judicial systems?
How do we empower free trade & control consumer price?
How do we empower domestic production and services?
How do we empower education & neutralize Social problems;

The crimes, political violence, strike and institutionalized corruption
and reduce gap between have and have not.

For the past 10 months numerous local and international pundits have
proposed many options to move the country forward. Of them, many are now
confused and modifying their own statements. They change their
position before the media for political & civil justice. But the
statements and actions have affected the hope of millions and have
destroyed the nation's economy.

Let us not forget, we asked for military intervention for law & order.
They were our only HOPE from a genocide that potentially would have
destroyed thousands of lives. They acted and administered the country as
per pundit's prescription.

We know there will always be partisan politics - after all nobody has all
the right answers, and no one can compare an apple to an orange or a
country to another. Each country has its own characteristics. But that
does not mean there has to be knee jerk policy. That is nothing but
adopting unsustainable policy fails in politics.

When discussing policy and confidence, there is an inherent task in
monitoring the balance. One always remembers to wash ones hand. For
example the officers/magistrate working at NBR are the same people can not purify themselves without sustainable policy?

If the most recent political upheaval told us anything, it's that the
people delivered a strong message against POLITICAL ACTION that lead post on January 11. And the people were hoping to get the military backed CTG would take a serious role as lawmakers and try to get the nation moving again. Now, after a year, the same pundit's seem to be playing a
different drum beat.

Slowly, but surely, the voter list has come along with many logistical
constraints. The Government doesn't have much time between now and perhaps till election expected to hold on November 04 2008. We hope the voter list and the election will be the nations ultimate HOPE for 150 million people. We trust the bureaucrats, pundits and politician has learned the lessons of corruption and political consequences. With that understanding, it's time to put aside the rancor and take the recourse toward an immediate
reconciliatory action. It's time the CTG enforce executives to finalize
key issues and policy to confront any unreasonable politics and urgent
political reconciliation.

Confidence Between Nations

IN the last 10 years, demand for Chittagong container port has accelerated tremendously. It is because of strong oil prices and a cautious measure of deregulation and investments.  There has also been an increase in import and export opportunities arising from global trade, and the integration of the Eastern India along with Bangladesh transit systems under SAARC & SAPTA.
In the last five years under the SAARC & SAPTA proposed understanding, India has already positioned itself, transiting its containers via Bangladesh to reduce freight cost by reducing distance to Kolkata by about 350 km compared to 1500 km.

Our GB analysis indicates that the development of container handling demand of Chittagong port is somewhat slow or lacking in decision-making ability, which would eventually deteriorate Indo-Bangla relations. The best foreign policy for both nations is to demonstrate confidence through cross transit between the two nations.

For the purpose of revenue forecasting; while balancing a good relation between two nations, Bangladesh Government must immediately consider setting fair & reasonable transit fees plus fuel surcharge that may earn over a billion annually, but these profitable means are contingent on swift and sturdy decision making on container terminal operations.

At the same token, India must also consider immediate investment of about billion dollars for immediate infrastructure development in Bangladesh for smooth transit operation. Also deemed important for both Indo-Bangla private sectors is the establishment of a manufacturing belt around rail junctions in Darsana, Singbad, Rongpur, Petrapole and Benapole so that local economic development takes place simultaneously.

Consider this idea that is an attempt to win all, will or usually ends in winning nothing. Otherwise we will always dream and talk high revenue but with no activity that translates into emptiness.
